Additional Info: The plant is indigenous to Kashmir Valley and Himalayas.

Used For: The herb is known to boost metabolic rates, kill helminthes, treat bacterial infections, relieve spasms, increase sexual libido, treat diarrhea, relieve flatulence, induce urination, promote expectoration, repel insects, maintain body healthiness, and stimulate its activity.

Costus is applied in the following range of conditions: skin conditions, rheumatism, phlegm accumulation, leprosy, jaundice, hiccupping, flatulence, edema, dyspepsia, cough, cholera, and bronchial asthma.

As a topical remedy the herb is applied to heal tumors, skin conditions, severe sores, and wounds.
