Five-finger grass is applied in form of mouthwash or a gargle, and is additionally used to relieve diarrhea. Both leaves and root bark or powdered root can be applied. Root bark is also beneficial for internal hemorrhage, like nasal bleeding.

Additional Info: Five-finger grass belongs to perennials, and is commonly met in dry soils of Canada and the US. The stem is procumbent and features petioled leaves, which consist of several toothed leaflets. The blossoming period starts in mid-spring and last to the end of summer, when the plant features yellow-colored flowers.

Preparation and Intake: To prepare an infusion, take 2-3 teaspoons of leaves for a cup of boiling water. Infuse the mixture. Drink it at a dose of 1 cup per day.

To prepare a decoction, take an ounce or root bark for a cup to a cup and a half of cold water. Boil it up and simmer till one cup of water is left. Use at a dose of a quarter a cup twice or thrice per day.

Powdered root is taken in a quantity of a quarter to half a teaspoon at a time.

In form of tincture the herb is used at a dose of 20-40 drops.
