Elements Applied: The root is commonly applied in herbal medicine.

Used For: The herb is known to relieve pains, reduce fevers, treat inflammations, tumors, heal bacterial infections, lower blood pressure, and induce urination.

Stephania root is applied to relieve rheumatic and arthritic conditions induced by coldness, damp and wind, it may also be applied in case of heat, but the usage depends on a combination to which it is added. Additionally, it can be applied to relieve common edema, lymphedema, ascites, as well as to increase lactation in a breastfeeding woman.

Preparation and Intake: The common dose is from 3 to 9 grams.

Safety: Stephania is not recommended to people with recurrent dampness or individuals suffering from yin deficiency.
